The Development and Wellbeing Service (TDWS)
The Development and Wellbeing Service (TDWS) is a confidential source of support for all resident doctors in training across Scotland. Our aim is to empower resident doctors to achieve their full potential by providing appropriate support and resources throughout their training journey.
TDWS can support with a range of issues, including health and wellbeing, neurodiversity, exam support, careers advice, professionalism, flexible training, and starting or returning to training.
The service can also provide direct access to specialist services including psychological support for workplace or exam-related anxiety, workplace strategy coaching, needs assessments for neurodivergent conditions, and dyslexia screening and assessment.
TDWS Neurodiversity webpages have been redeveloped
The redeveloped TDWS Neurodiversity webpages bring together information and resources for resident doctors who may experience challenges with executive function, organisation, time management or procrastination. These challenges may or may not be related to neurodivergent traits but can have an impact on work or training.
The webpages provide information about neurodiversity, practical resources and the support available through TDWS, including guidance on reasonable adjustments, alongside links to further information and sources of support. You can also read articles and watch a video about the experiences of neurodivergent doctors in training.
