We are delighted to announce the launch of several new Human Factors and Ergonomics (HFE) resources designed to support learning, teaching, and improvement across health and social care.

Safety Culture Cards Now Available on Right Decision

The popular Safety Culture Cards are now available on the Right Decision app, making it even easier to access and use them in learning, improvement, and team development activities. The cards continue to be available for download through the Human Factors Hub, providing flexible access for individuals and teams who wish to use them as part of conversations about culture, safety, and system improvement.

Introducing the Brilliant Basics Teaching Packs

We've also launched a new library of Brilliant Basics Teaching Packs. Developed to support trainers, educators, and facilitators, these ready-to-use resources provide practical guidance and learning activities to help design and deliver engaging sessions on a range of Human Factors and Ergonomics topics. Whether you are new to teaching HFE or looking to enhance existing programmes, the packs offer a simple starting point for building capability and confidence.

New Learning Series for Those Involved in Adverse Events

In addition, we are pleased to launch a new HFE learning series for anyone involved in adverse events across health and care. Through a series of self-directed workbooks, learners will explore how Human Factors and Ergonomics can help them navigate the complexities of adverse events, support those affected, understand the influence of work systems on outcomes, and identify opportunities for meaningful learning and improvement.

Together, these resources form part of our ongoing commitment to building Human Factors capability across Scotland's health and social care workforce and to supporting safer, kinder, and more effective systems of care.
