CPD Connect | Simulation-Based Learning

Glasgow

Join us in Glasgow on 7 October 2026 for practical, in-person simulation-based learning at Public Services Delivery Scotland, 177 Bothwell Street, Glasgow, G2 7ER.

Target audience: Designed for First5 GPs, this small-group workshop offers a safe and supportive environment to practise realistic patient scenarios, build confidence in decision-making and take part in guided reflection with an experienced facilitator.

Places are currently available at no charge due to Scottish Government funding. When booking, please enter your CCT date in the Special Requirements box to authenticate your funding.

As this is a small-group, highly resource-intensive workshop, please only book if you are confident you can attend.

Learning outcomes

• Recognise the impact of common women’s health conditions on the patient’s quality of life.
• Increase confidence in managing prevalent women’s health issues.
• Develop awareness of red flag features and understand when to escalate care.
• Identify the potential for undertreatment of women’s health conditions.
• Reflect on personal knowledge gaps related to the investigation and management of common women’s health issues.

Take part in realistic patient scenarios within a small group, followed by guided discussion with a skilled facilitator. The reflective format supports deeper learning and helps participants relate learning to everyday primary care practice.

Women's Health

Increase confidence in common women's health issues, identify red flags, consider undertreatment and recognise personal learning needs.

Child Protection

Develop confidence in recognising abuse, applying workplace procedures, managing concerns, sensitive history-taking, communication and uncertainty.

Emergencies in Primary Care

Practise recognising and responding to a range of emergencies that may be encountered in primary care using safe, realistic scenarios.
