CPD Connect | E-Learning - Sexual and Reproductive Health
Developed by the PSD Scotland - CPD Connect General Practice Nursing Team, with support from specialist sexual health practitioners, this eLearning module is suitable for those new to sexual and reproductive health education and for practitioners wishing to update their knowledge for continuing professional development.
The resource is designed to be accessed alongside wider reading and comprises three units. All three units must be completed before a certificate is released.
Learning outcomes
- Apply a values-based approach to the delivery of sexual health services and care.
- Understand factors that can influence individual sexual choice and wellbeing.
- Identify the full range of contraceptive methods, including contraception for specific groups, based on current guidance and evidence.
- Understand the diagnosis and management of sexually transmitted infections and blood-borne viruses.
- Recognise the impact of unplanned pregnancy, prevention methods and available options.
- Develop the ability to complete person-centred sexual health consultations, including trauma-informed and supportive conversations.
