How will you be supported and assessed whilst on a LAS placement?

Your learning and progress will be supported through:

• Clear learning objectives aligned with your Higher Education Institution’s outcomes and your learning agreement.
• Structured supervision, typically delivered virtually, to guide your development and provide timely feedback. This will be your formal opportunity to demonstrate your learning from the previous week and plan your next steps – take time to prepare for your supervision as it’s an important part of any placement but especially so when your practice educator has not observed your daily work.

Supervision May Include:

• 1:1 / peer / in person or virtual sessions,
• Written or recorded reflections, and input from on-site colleagues.
• Creative demonstrations of learning, such as video reflections, diagrams, or voice notes, to showcase your understanding and development.
• Weekly feedback from your Practice Educator (PE) or mentor on submitted work to support continuous growth.
• Simple reflection tools like Two Stars and a Wish to promote meaningful self-assessment and dialogue (Wahid & Khan, 2025).
• Review of activity tracking tools that align your experiences with learning outcomes, enabling effective progress monitoring.
