Discussing and presenting issues
Discussing and presenting issues
Discussing a student's progress by providing feedback is a relatively straightforward activity when a student is performing to the required standards. However, when faced with an underperforming student who needs to demonstrate improvement in their performance, discussing and presenting issues can be challenging.
Candour and clarity are important to ensure transparency for the student in relation the aspects they are underachieving. In line with identification and evidencing issues, the student's education institution assessment documentation and assessment criteria should be used to discuss and present issues (Duffy and Hardicre 2007).
Having captured the key aspects you need to discuss, it is essential to consider the means of conducting the conversation.
