The AHP Practice Education Development Framework
The AHP Practice Education Development Framework describes:
- Four levels of experience for all AHP colleagues and Who each level applies to.
- What the Practice Education Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours are at each level.
- How colleagues can undertake learning to underpin and evidence each level and/or support progression to the next level.
1. Who?
Support levelNon - HCPC-registered staff or student learners who support delivery of Practice-Based Learning. |
Informed levelHCPC-registered Practice Educators new to Practice-Based Learning. |
Skilled levelExperienced HCPC-registered Practice Educators who supervise student learners independently and support other Practice Educators. |
Enhanced levelHighly experienced HCPC-registered Practice Educators who supervise learners independently and lead Practice Education in their context. |

3. How?
Recommended Learning: The learning which underpins and evidences current practice education experience level and/or enables progression to the next level. This learning may be digital, virtual or face to face and delivered locally or nationally by Practice Education Leads (PELs) or external providers, e.g. Higher Education Institutes (HEIs).
