National Internal Medicine Trainee (IMT) Conference

National IMT Conference

The Annual National Internal Medicine Trainee (IMT) Conference took place as an in-person event on Thursday 19th March, hosted in Stirling Court Hotel. This had been organised by an enthusiastic Resident Doctor led committee, and it was incredible to see the high attendance from IMTs across all regions of Scotland.

There was a diverse programme of themes and topics throughout the day which meant there was something relevant for every stage of training. We were delighted to have a talk from the Lead Nurse from the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service who shared an Introduction to Tissue Donation. In addition there were representatives from the Scottish Clinical Leadership Fellowship cohort and various specialists who gave their time and expertise to share interesting clinical conundrum cases, give personal insight on communication between colleagues, share narratives on different career journeys and look ahead into the impact and influence of Artificial Intelligence in our medical sphere.

There was a palpable sense of enthusiasm and interest, and this was reflected by the high level of participation from the audience with each of the talks given. We are delighted with the positive feedback received and look forward to being able to continue this annual event which is very much valued by the Resident Doctors in Training.
