PSD Scotland / Scottish Government Healthcare Science Annual Event 2026
PSD Scotland and Scottish Government will be hosting a joint Healthcare Science annual event with sessions being held online on Tuesday 1st September 2026. The event will feature presentations from the Scottish Government, Academy for Healthcare Science, and the National School for Healthcare Science, among others. Further details, including the full programme and information on how to register will be distributed to those on our mailing list and included in a future newsletter. In the meantime, please hold the date in your calendars.

HCSW Healthcare Science Stakeholder Group
We have now had 2 meetings with our healthcare science support worker colleagues and we continue to support an open invite for NHS colleagues to be part of our stakeholder group which aims to bring together experienced support worker professionals to provide valuable insights and contribute to the improvement of healthcare support workforce career opportunities and development. Your participation will help shape resources, practices, and initiatives that impact the healthcare support workers workforce. We are looking for dedicated NHS Scotland healthcare support workers who are passionate about improving opportunities for the healthcare support workforce and are willing to share their expertise and perspectives.
If you think this could be you, and you would like to get involved, please complete our application form to have a chance to get involved and feedback to PSD Scotland, Healthcare Science team.

Knowledge Transfer Programme - applications live
The HCS KTP Programme is an 18-month programme which enables UK healthcare scientists to form lasting partnerships across clinical, research, and industry teams at top scientific centres. Participants receive extra support to drive science-led projects that fit healthcare priorities and boost their clinical roles. Early collaboration and knowledge exchange help quickly develop and share innovations that improve patient care, increase service efficiency, and stimulate growth in the UK life sciences sector.

These eLearning modules are designed to support NHS Scotland staff to understand Global Citizenship in the NHS and to ensure their global health work is meaningful.
