Periodontal Diseases in Primary Care guidance update

SDCEP is updating its Prevention and Treatment of Periodontal Diseases in Primary Care guidance. The updated guidance will align with the BSP’s S3-level evidence-based treatment guidelines for stage I-III periodontitis and Delivering Better Oral Health (DBOH). A draft was made available for consultation for a six-week period over the summer. Work is ongoing to incorporate the feedback received into the draft before publication.

The guidance will be published online and accessed via the SDCEP website. A number of supporting tools to assist clinicians in the management of periodontal disease will also be available.
