• No alternative placement solution available across the organisation for time of placement
• No alternative placement found within organisation at a different time of the academic year.

Actions

Using a solution focused approach, escalation to level 3 is rare and strategic guidance and awareness is paramount at this level. This would come via AHP Director or Strategic lead within an organisation or the NHS AHP PrBL Partnership agreement signatory. Apparent reasons for the proposed PrBL (placement) cancellation would be given alongside evidence of steps and mitigations taken to prevent the cancellation.

Absolute risk of cancellation of agreed PrBL (placement) experience

Line Managers/placement coordinators/practice education providers inform relevant individuals within organisation:

• AHP Strategic Lead
• NHS AHP Practice Education Lead
• AHP Director
• AHP PrBL Partnership Agreement signatory

HEI’s

• Confirm placement cancellation and provide reasons as able for cancellation.
• Record cancellation as HEI cancellation

Resolution

Practice Education providers:

• No solution within the organisation or linked organisations
• Agreement by AHP strategic lead/Director to cancel PrBL (placement)experience
• Recorded as a cancellation for the practice education provider
• Line manager/placement coordinator/practice education provider informs relevant HEI about cancellation of PrBL (placement) experience

HEI

• No solution found placement cancelled by HEI and recorded as HEI cancellation.
