Welcome to this edition of the Scotland Deanery Newsletter.

We begin by signposting you to our Annual Quality Report, where you can read more about the quality of medical education we offer in Scotland and what we are doing to make sure standards are upheld. The report shares a great deal of detail and is very relevant to trainers and trainees, across all specialties and locations. Next-up, we point you to a pilot section on the Scotland Deanery website. Hitherto, we had chosen not to host specific specialty pages on the site but are now trialling a bespoke page for Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with a view to possibly extending the facility to other disciplines. Your feedback is most welcome.

We are pleased that our Scottish Improvement Leaders Programme has been endorsed by Education Scotland. This recognition provides assurance that the programme offers relevant, significant and sustained, quality learning. More information is provided via the relevant link. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us all to work in innovative ways and great strides forward have taken place. We at the Deanery, as part of NHS Education for Scotland, have embraced the opportunities now available and we are pleased to tell you more about how our Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) programme is enhancing learning. Next is some detail of support for COVID-19 death certification and news from our Scottish Quality and Safety Fellowship programme. We finish-up this edition with the launch of the Human Factors e-learning module.
