Genomics Education Update
A programme of work to review and consolidate genomics education resources has been progressed through the secondment of a Senior Educator within NHS Education for Scotland. This work has focused on improving visibility and understanding of the genomics education and CPD resources available to the Scottish workforce.
The work has included close collaboration with the Genomics Training Academy (GTAC), reviewing UK-wide education resources and emerging training approaches, including virtual reality–enabled learning packages. Alongside this, a wide range of existing resources were identified and mapped, including NES-hosted materials, professional body content, academic provision and other open-access learning.
These data are presented through an interactive Power BI dashboard, enabling users to explore resources by topic, audience and access type.
At present, the dashboard is available within NHS Scotland for organisations with Microsoft 365 access, and work is underway to explore options for wider publication. The dashboard can be accessed via the Genomics CPD and Education page on the NES Healthcare Science website.
