New Statement of Dental Remuneration

Scottish Government is in the process of developing a new Statement of Dental Remuneration for Scotland to fit with the needs of patients and the profession in the 21st century.  The CDO has established a working group to advise on the revision of the SDR which reflects the opinions of the profession across Scotland.  The minutes of the advisory group are available to view on: https://www.scottishdental.org/cdo-advisory-group/

As you will see in the notes on the meeting on 15 December 2022, NES is in discussions with the Scottish Government about developing educational material to provide practitioners with help in understanding and implementation of the new system.  Please keep an eye out for a CPD Alert email informing you when this will be available.

QI Activity

The current QI cycle started on 1 August 2022 and many primary care dentists have been asking what they should be doing to comply with the requirement to undertake their 15 hours of QI Activity.  NES understands that Scottish Government are at an advanced stage in their thinking on what dentists will be asked to do to achieve this.  Please keep an eye on the TURAS Learn page on QI Activity for any updates.
