Childsmile Updates Course
Is there a Childsmile extended duties dental nurse who trained prior to 2018 working in your practice? We are please to offer a blended learning update course to support their continuing professional development. The course programme includes information on: current nutritional guidelines, health literacy, behaviour change, oral health and Childsmile developments.

Royal Environmental Institute of Scotland (REHIS) Elementary Food and Health Course
This course is for staff currently involved in delivering the Childsmile programme. Covering the importance of having a balanced diet, the needs of specific groups, the impact of food on health, and the function of vitamins and minerals.
Current food initiatives and nutrition policy are addressed, to highlight the importance of bridging the gap in food heath inequalities.
This in person course is accredited through REHIS (Royal Environmental Institute of Scotland) and has been independently rated on the Scottish Qualifications Framework (SCQF) at level 5 with one credit. Participants undertake a multiple choice exam at the end of the training session. Topics covered include: An Introduction to Food and Health, Food and Nutrients, Energy and Energy Balance, Influences on Food Intake, Eating for Health, and Food and Wellbeing Action Planning.
