Working with the New SDR Determination 1
NES have now published the TURAS page ‘Information on the SDR/Determination 1’ which contains the essential learning resources that are outlined in the PCA(D)(2023)5. They can be found on the TURAS link below:
Information on the SDR/Determination 1 | Turas | Learn (nhs.scot)
To log in make sure you have signed into your TURAS account. If you have not set up a TURAS account you can do so by going to the Turas Registration Link
NHS Scotland Staff can also now use their Office 365 account to log in
There are a series of 9 videos and a webinar taking you through the sections of the SDR as they appear in Determination 1.
You will need to complete each video sequentially. The time spent completing each module is recorded for reporting purposes. Ensure that you have completed the page after watching by clicking the 'Complete and Continue' button at the bottom of the page.
On completion you will get access to your CPD certificate and a claim form.
You also need to attend a webinar which gives further explanation on the SDR/Determination 1 and these can be booked via Portal. These will be recorded and made accessible on the TURAS page after they have taken place if you are unable to attend the live events.
The webinar 'Introduction to Determination 1' will be presented by Tom Ferris, Gerard Boyle, Gillian Leslie, Christina Malivitsi and Gavin McLellan on Thursday 12 October from 19:00-20:30. The same webinar will be delivered again on Wednesday 25 October from 19:00-20:30 and is open to all members of the dental team.
We are also supporting the periodontal section with a webinar 'What's New In, and How to Work in Harmony with the Updated SDCEP Periodontal Guidance for Primary Care?' which will be presented by Madeleine Murray and Paul Friel (both from the guidance development group) on Tuesday 7 November from 18:30-20:00, which is open to all members of the dental team.

There are no charges for either of these webinars. Recordings of the webinars will be available on the TURAS page shortly after the live event.
We anticipate some additional resources will also be added in October and November in response to questions that arise at the live events, so please ensure you check back to the page even once you have completed the essential learning.
