Who?

HCPC-Registered Practice Educators (PEs) new to Practice-Based Learning who may require support from Skilled or Enhanced Level colleagues.


Please refer to your professional body advice for supporting practice education and ensure your contributions are within your professional scope of practice.


What?
Knowledge, skills and behaviours

At this level you can:

  • Complete student orientation and induction to practice setting and local policies
  • Give and receive feedback
  • Design, develop and deliver learning and teaching in a variety of PrBL models
  • Carry out student assessment
  • Educate others of Support Worker roles and responsibilities
  • Delegate student learning activities
  • Seek guidance from experienced colleagues to recognise and act on student support needs, i.e.:
    • Implementing reasonable adjustments
    • Identifying and supporting underperforming students
    • Supporting and escalating student well-being in partnership with HEI
    • Risk management/incident reporting
  • Create a high-quality learning environment and experience.
  • Facilitate opportunities for public health conversations during practice placements

And contribute to:

  • Innovation in Practice-Based Learning
  • Quality audit & actions (e.g. Quality Standards for Practice Learning (QSPL))
  • Supporting other Practice Educators with PrBL
