Who?

Highly experienced HCPC-registered Practice Educators who supervise learners independently and lead Practice Education in their context.


Please refer to your professional body advice for supporting practice education and ensure your contributions are within your professional scope of practice.


What?
Knowledge, skills and behaviours

In addition to the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours at Support, Informed and Skilled Levels, at this level you can:

  • Share knowledge, skills and behaviours with colleagues
  • Co-ordinate placement offers within team/service
  • Lead on development of new/innovative models of PrBL and their evaluation
  • Lead on establishing service standards and adaptations for student support needs:
    • Reasonable adjustments
    • Underperforming students
    • Student well-being
    • Risk management and incident reporting
  • Embed principles of AHP Practice-Based Learning Agreements within your context
  • Lead on QSPL audit cycles and implementation of action plans within your context
  • Develop sustainable relationships with HEIs
  • Participate in PrBL networks locally and nationally
  • Lead on identification of opportunities for public health experiences during practice placements

And contribute to:

  • Local and national PrBL drivers and priorities
  • Informing HEI curriculum of workforce needs
  • Guest or associate lecturing in HEIs
